(PETALING JAYA, MARCH 16) PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim held a press conference at Eastin Hotel in Petaling Jaya today, addressing the collaboration between PKR and arch-foes Umno for the upcoming 15th General Election.
In the press conference, he started off by introducing a book of Muhamad by a curator of the British Museum.
He mentioned that he held discussions with 36 MPs from PKR earlier regarding the recent party-hopping that was initiated by carrot-and-stick. He stressed that this justifies that the current government is not listening to the people, where bribery is the main issue currently faced by Malaysia.
He also mentioned that Perikatan Nasional is more concerned about maintaining their government status rather than taking care of the rakyat.
PDRM, MACC, HASIL and other government authorities are being used by the government as a political weapon to threaten the opposition, said Anwar.
It was revealed that several MPs from the PKR party have reported to him disclosing that they received threatening messages.
Even with 3 defections from PKR to PN, he would like to advise and emphasize that the government party still does not have the majority of parliament.
He has also mentioned that the process of vaccination is extremely complex, especially concerning people from the rural area who have difficulties registering via the MySejahtera app.
He has instructed all his party’s assets to travel to rural areas in order to help citizens register for vaccination.
He also suggested that instead of giving two doses of vaccine to the first batch of people, the government should allow more people to receive the first dose of vaccine first, so that more citizens can be benefited as soon as possible.
At the end of the press conference, he verified that initial discussion with UMNO did take place. However, he further clarified that there is no formal agreement as to whether the PKR-Umno Collaboration will materialise for the upcoming GE15.
More to come…
