Large crowds seen panic-buying before MCO 2.0

As reported by: Adammyrehab
Incident Date: 10:30 AM, Tuesday, 12 January 2021
Location: AEON Taman Maluri

As our PM Muhyiddin Yassin announced MCO 2.0 on the evening of 11/1/2021, many citizens are yet again fearful for the lack of essential items that may be unavailable or out of stock during lockdown period.

Similar to the situation we had experienced back in 2020, the morning after the announcement, crowds of people can be seen flocking to supermarkets trying to stock up on supplies for the lockdown that will be imposed for the next 2 weeks.

In the video below, a long queue of people has already started forming outside of the supermarket, as early as 10:30 a.m.

We hope everyone will remain calm during these trying times, and avoid going to places with large crowds, if unavoidable, please practice social distancing and abide by the SOPs. The government has assured us that there will be no shortage of supplies this time, so hopefully we can all avoid panic-buying and purchase supplies at a better and safer time instead.

We here at Newswav would like to again wish everyone good health and to stay safe in these comings weeks.
