Call on all Malaysians to unite as one people to be disciplined, to avoid the 3Cs and practise the 3Ws, so that the MCO 3.0 is the last MCO in Malaysia in the war against Covid-19 pandemic and prove that we can learn from the United States and India to become a better performing nation after being a failure in Covid-19 pandemic

I could not believe my eyes when I checked the world-o-meter table for the Covid-19 cases for each country yesterday.

The United States, which was the world’s worst nation in the Covid-19 pandemic for over a year as to have a cumulative total of over 34 million cases and over 600,000 fatalities, was recording a daily increase of over 100,000 new Covid-19 cases for three months and a daily fatality of over 2,000 deaths also for three long months.

It reached its daily peak of new Covid-19 cases on January 8, 2021 when it registered 304,248 cases and its daily peak of fatalities on 12th January 2021 when it registered 4,482 deaths.

Yesterday, the United States registered a daily increase of 7,750 cases — a drop of 97.5% from its peak of 304,248 cases on January 8, and a daily increase of 124 new Covid-19 deaths — a drop of 97.3% from its peak of 4,482 deaths on 12th January 2021!

Even India, which took over United States’ place as the worst performing state in the Covid-19 pandemic in the last two months, is turning the corner as far as daily increase of new Covid-19 cases is concerned, although it daily Covid-19 fatalities are still high exceeding 3,000 deaths since April 27.

Yesterday, India reported a daily increase of 153,485 cases — a 63% drop from its peak of 414,433 new daily cases 24 days ago on May 6. India registered 3,129 Covid-19 deaths yesterday.

The United States is now the eighth country with the highest daily increase of new Covid-19 cases, while Malaysia is ranked No. 11.

Tomorrow, the full-lockdown of MCO 3.0 goes into force, and there is gloom and doom in Malaysia;

I call on all Malaysians to unite as one people to be disciplined, to avoid the 3Cs and practise the 3Ws — avoid Crowded places, Close-contact settings and Confined and enclosed spaces; while Wear a mask, Wash hands and heed the Warning to avoid close contact, practise proper cough etiquette, frequent disinfection and seek medical help if symptomatic — so that the MCO 3.0 is the last MCO in Malaysia in the war against Covid-19 pandemic and prove that we can learn from the United States and India to become a better performing nation after being a failure in Covid-19 pandemic.

However, I agree with former Cabinet Minister Rafidah Aziz and the president of the Federation of Private Medical Practitioners’ Associations (FPMPAM), Dr. Steven Chow that the acceleration of the ramping-up of the national vaccination rollout must be one the priorities, and the Minister co-ordinating vaccines, Khairy Jamaluddin, must get rid of his fixation with “mega” Covid-19 vaccination centres as the challenge is to get the vaccine to people especially in remote areas and not to get the people to the vaccine!

Anwar: Kita tidak setuju dengan pengunaan Akta Hasutan #ms

Get Well Soon, Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim | Din Merican: the Malaysian DJ Blogger

“Apakah saya setuju beliau diberikan bantuan guaman? Saya setuju.

– 31 Mei, 2021.

Sergio Agüero presentation at FC Barcelona

“I’ll give my all for the club, to help the team. To win trophies. I’m so happy to be here. Since I was a kid, Barcelona is the best team in the world, and on top of that Leo [Messi] is here.

I hope we play together. As [Joan] Laporta said, we’ve been negotiating for a while. What happens with Leo is up to him. But obviously it’s a pleasure and an honour to play with him. We’ve been together for Argentina since we were kids, and I know him very well. If he stays, as I believe he will, we’ll give our all for the club. As he always has.

Being here at Barça is the greatest motivation. As I said, Barça is the best team in the world and simply being here is the greatest motivation. And as I always said, the best player in the world is here”.

Diego Simeone’s success

The Argentine has now won two LaLiga titles with the club as a coach, in addition to his first title as a player back in 1996.

Before Diego Simeone was a LaLiga winning coach of the current warrior-like Atletico de Madrid team, the Argentine was also a fearsome midfielder who lifted many trophies including a LaLiga and Copa del Rey double with the rojiblanco outfit.

A mobile, technical and aggressive box-to-box midfielder capable of stopping, starting and finishing moves, Simeone starred for over a decade in LaLiga, first with Sevilla and then in two different spells as an Atletico player.

After coming through the ranks at Velez Sarsfield in his home country, Simeone played two seasons at Italian club AC Pisa before joining Sevilla in summer 1992. The super competitive 22-year-old quickly settled in the Andalusian capital, where his fellow Argentina international Diego Maradona and current Sevilla sporting director Monchi were teammates.

Atletico legend Luis Aragones had a huge impact on Simeone when he arrived in Sevilla as coach in 1993, and also played a role in the midfielder moving to the Vicente Calderon club a year later, having hit 12 goals in 64 LaLiga appearances for his first Spanish club.

Simeone arrived at a team in transition, with his battling qualities coming to the fore in a relegation struggle, and a goal back at his former club Sevilla on the final day of the season was crucial in helping keep the team in the top flight.

12 months later Simeone also scored on the last day of the campaign, but in very different circumstances. A new-look Atletico team coached by Radomir Antic roared to the 1995-96 LaLiga title, with goalkeeper Jose Molina, defender Santi Denia and forward Kiko all key members of a side which represented many of the deepest qualities of the rojiblanco club’s traditions. El Cholo was the beating heart of a team which also clinched the Copa del Rey final by beating Barcelona 1-0 in the final, thanks to a goal from prolific Serbian midfielder Milinko Pantic.

Summer 1997 took Simeone to Italy, where he played two years for Inter Milan, winning the 1997-98 UEFA Cup. There followed four further seasons for Lazio, where he lifted four trophies including the 1999–2000 Serie A title in a team coached by Sven Goran Eriksson.

Simeone returned to Atletico in 2003 to help the club going through a difficult moment in their history, playing with new teammates including fellow countryman Ariel Ibagaza, and two new homegrown talents by the names of Fernando Torres and Gabi Fernandez.

His international career with Argentina was also long and successful, including 11 goals in 108 caps, appearances at three World Cups, and two Copa America titles. After finishing his playing career back home with Racing Club, he also began his coaching career in Argentine football, before answering another call to return to Atletico as manager in December 2011.

Simeone immediately looked to instil the same spirit he knew and had displayed week in, week out as player into that ailing Atletico squad. Other teammates from the 1995/96 double winners Juan Vizcaino and Jose Luis Caminero were also back at the club, as Simeone led them to their next and against all odds LaLiga title in 2013/14. And this season, again against all the odds, Atleti led the LaLiga Santander rankings for virtually the whole season and held on despite a late wobble to clinch the club’s 11th LaLiga title.

The indefatigable rojiblanco midfielder was still recognisable in the manic character driving his team on from the sidelines. First as a player and now as a manager, El Cholo is a born winner and Atleti through and through.

Barcelona, Spain, June 1st , 2021 – Global sports brand PUMA and LaLiga present the new official match ball for the 2021/21 season: the ACCELERATE. Ibai Llanos, the most popular Spanish-speaking Caster, led the unveiling on his Twitch channel, showcasing the design of the upcoming season’s primary match ball, which combines traditional white with an explosive mix of red, yellow and orange tones.

PUMA and LaLiga have transformed the perception of the LaLiga ball over the past two years, and have this season focused on the transformative nature of the ball that makes the game so exciting. A unique spectacle. This isn’t just football, this is LaLiga. This isn’t just a ball, it’s the Heart of LaLiga.

To demonstrate the transformative power of the new ball, PUMA and LaLiga have launched an eye-catching campaign with strong visual language combining real images with 2D and 3D animation. The colours of the new ACCELERATE ball pay tribute to the energy of FIRE. Thecampaign has been created in a powerful chromatic style and an aesthetic inspired by Japanese Anime.

An unprecedented launch via Twitch

Ibai, who commentates LaLiga matches via Twitch, showcased the new 2021/22 match ball on his channel. “ACCELERATE is a spectacular ball, it’s going to turn a lot of heads,” he said during the presentation. “It’s a great honour to have presented the launch of the new ball from home.”

The launch campaign of the new ACCELERATE ball focuses on PUMA players such as Luis Suárez, Jan Oblak, Antoine Griezmann, Raphaël Varane, Suso, Jules Koundé and Marc Bartra. A number of LaLiga stars of past and present including Suarez, Suso, Cazorla, Nolito and Bartra featured during the launch on Ibai’s Twitch channel, discussing their objectives ahead of next season and the new ball’s originality and standout design.

ACCELERATE, a symbol of the game as a creator of energy

ACCELERATE is the perfect ball for accuracy and rapid movement, a symbol of the game as a creator of energy. It will be used in most LaLiga matches and mixes white, black and grey touches with energetic and vibrant red, yellow and orange tones that offer optimal visibility. The unique ball is structured with eight large panels which facilitate greater ball control.

The ball is FIFA approved, meaning it balances high performance with a design incorporating cutting-edge technology. It features high frequency moulding that guarantees perfect sphericity, improved maintenance of the ball’s shape over time and lower water absorption. The aerodynamic surface is 1.2mm textural 3D PU, making it more resistant to abrasion and wear. POE foam has been added to increase touch sensitivity, providing a firmer feel and better bounce consistency.

The first official LaLiga 2021/22 match ball to be presented, the ACCELERATE will be available from 1st June at PUMA.COM and selected stores around the world.

Sergio Agüero is back

Barcelona have brought the Argentine striker back to LaLiga Santander, a decade after his memorable and prolific spell at Atletico de Madrid.

Sergio Agüero is back LaLiga Santander. The former Atlético de Madrid striker has confirmed his long-awaited move to Barcelona, after spending a very successful decade in the Premier League with Manchester City. Here are five things about the Argentine that you might not know.

He’s a lifelong Independiente fan

It was at Argentine club Independiente that Agüero broke through, joining at the age of nine and climbing the ranks rapidly to start playing for the first team. When he left in 2006 to move to Europe, he had spent almost a decade at the club and there was a bond there that remains to this day. When Independiente were relegated in 2013, Agüero considered returning to the club to try to fire them back to the top tier. In the end, he stayed with Manchester City and added to his legendary status there.

He’s a very close friend of Lionel Messi

Agüero arrives at the club that one of his best friends has called home for two decades. The striker has a special bond with Lionel Messi, and they’ve been roommates on Argentina duty since forming part of the victorious squad at the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship. At senior level, they’ve played together for Argentina 77 times and counting. Agüero has said that Messi is like a brother to him, while the Barcelona captain is also the godfather to the former Manchester City player’s son Benjamin.

He’s inextricably tied to Maradona

Agüero has often been compared to and is closely connected to Diego Maradona. ‘Kun’ broke the legendary number 10’s long-standing record as the youngest player to feature in Argentina’s top division, aged just 15 years, one month and five days. Agüero later married Maradona’s daughter Gianinna, having a son – Benjamin. Benjamin’s is Agüero’s son, Maradona’s grandson and Messi’s godchild. That’s quite something!

He has a Lord of the Rings-inspired tattoo in Elvish

The centre-forward has a tattoo on his right forearm that is inspired by JRR Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings, written in the fictional Elvish language. However, he admitted in an interview in 2019 that he still hadn’t seen the movies and that he doesn’t know what the words inked on his arm are supposed to mean!

He had a brief music career!

Early in his playing career, the Argentine band Los Leales performed a song titled ‘Kun Agüero’ in which Sergio featured. His role was more than just a cameo, as the song starts with Agüero singing the entire first verse. The song is of the cumbia genre, a popular type of music in South America that the player has often said that he likes.
